Make Bakkin Great Again

BakkinGreatAgain

TL;DR Bakkin is recruiting on all positions. Fill in the form at the bottom if you’re interested. Also, the banner, language and slogan are completely totally original; any resemblance to certain US presidential candidate campaign (whom Bakkin does not endorse) is just your imagination. Lalala I have no idea what you’re talking about. 103 coming soon.

It is great to be here. I’d like to thank WordPress and all the amazing webhosting companies here for hosting us. Today, I am going to talk about how to Make Scanlation Great Again.

Life took away from the people their means of making a living and turning out good manga scanlation at the same time. Avid yuri fanboys and fangirls have seen the manga they loved stripped away from them. Many students and office workers, once following every of Namori’s latest magazine releases, are now in a state despair. Now they cannot even read the tankoubon without having to invest heavily in Japanese courses, which, as we all know, benefit only the bourgeois and the politicians.

It doesn’t have to be this way. We can turn it all around – and we can turn it around fast. But if we’re going to deliver real change, we’re going to have to reject the campaign of fear and intimidation being pushed by powerful corporations, parents and the media. Those people will say anything – and do anything – to keep things exactly as they are. Their propaganda have marginalized us otakus, labeled art collectors as “figurine maniacs”, and shunted talented translators and editors from contributing to scanlation groups.

The scanlation groups will keep quitting.

The mangas will remain in moonrunes.

And YOU will remain without your dose of moe.

But now it’s time for us Otakus to take back their future. Stand with Bakkin, and we will get scanlating back on schedule. We will put high quality English translated Yuru Yuri on every computer and tablet and smartphone. And we are going to do it right. We will Make Scanlation Great Again. ARE YOU WITH ME?

    • Depends on what you want to do. If you are good at English and Japanese, you should be able to do translation just fine with just a bit of getting used to.
We may want someone a bit more experienced doing typesetting, but for cleaning, as long as you are comfortable using Photoshop or GIMP on a daily basis, and know how to use the Pen Tool and the Clone Tool, you should do OK.
There are many cleaning/typesetting tutorials out there; our member Fawson also made a mini redrawing howto that newcomers can use. If you just want to try it out, feel free to contact us using the form above, and we’ll see whether you can fit.
